An official Russian delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Georgy Kalamanov, and the Director General of the Expo 2025 Ekaterinburg Committee, visited this Monday, September 10th, the Andorran Innovation Space, where they met with the Minister of Economy, Innovation and Competitiveness, Gilbert Saboya, and the Director of the Actuatech Foundation, Marc Pons.

The Russian delegation was interested in the different projects that are presented in the innovation area, developed with the Andorran Observatory for Sustainability (OBSA) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

During the visit, the Russian vice-minister praised the country’s innovation strategy, which is key to be competitive internationally. It is even more important, considering the country’s uniqueness and size. At the same time, he invited Andorran representatives to the next Open Innovation Forum, which will take place in Moscow on 15, 16 and 17 October, to present the Andorran model of the City Scope, for its capacity to provide solutions in areas such as tourism, mobility, security and energy.

The Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade reminded that Russia has interest in all those countries, such as Andorra, that can inspire with their research models. In this sense, he mentioned some ways of collaboration that could arise between the two countries, in sectors such as tourism, innovation and entrepreneurship.
