Actua presented on Tuesday, December 18th, the first national Data Hub at the Andorran Innovation Space. The Secretary of State for Economic Diversification and Innovation, Josep Maria Missé, presented the Data Hub as “a platform designed to store, cross, connect and process data from many sources of information, with the aim of unifying and centralizing the data generated by different suppliers “such as Andorra Telecom, the Government’s Mobility Department, or FEDA, among others”.

Actua Innovation’s director, Marc Pons, pointed out “the main goal is to provide an environment with the latest available architecture and technology in order to to carry out data analysis that allows past, present or future scenarios to be understood” He also added “at the same time, we should be able to foresee and model future evolutions to help in the process of decision-making”.

Some case studies are currently being developed and will be implemented shortly. In this sense, some examples would be in areas such as:

Tourism: Thanks to the data provided by Andorra Telecom and others that will be added, it will be possible to develop a real-time analysis of metrics referring to tourists: number, segregation by countries, average overnight stay per tourist, loyalty, zoning, customer behaviour, flows, … which will significantly improve existing monitoring systems.

Mobility: The Mobility Department will be able to know in detail the current state of the road network, the number of vehicles in a specific road, the most frequent journeys…therefore, Actua, thanks to multiple data sources, will develop a mobility model to improve management.

The Actua platform must provide also an inclusive environment to generate synergies with other entities looking forward to developing new services.
