Andorra Business is hosting in Madrid today, various work sessions to promote Andorra as an investment and business destination with representatives from the main Spanish consultancy agencies, law firms, financial journalists and tech companies.
The Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise, and president of Andorra Business, Jordi Gallardo, announced the start of the air connection between the Andorra-La Seu airport and Madrid beginning on December 17th, and elaborated on various strategic projects being carried out by the Government of Andorra such as the creation of a free zone, the developing of the e-Sports sector, regulation to promote digital economy and the engagement with innovation and Big data projects.
In this sense, Gallardo stated that “work sessions such as this help us raise awareness of the work being done by the Government to facilitate investments and the feedback is extremely satisfactory. The start of the air connection with Madrid is one of the subjects that generated most interest among Madrid business professionals”.
The Andorran minister also gave interviews to various media outlets such as El País, Capital Radio, Invertia, la Razón, and on Wednesday at 10.30h he will take part in the live, economic program on Canal 24h of Televisió Espanyola. He also presented Andorra´s strategic projects to journalists from the Agència EFE, ABC, Bloomberg, Cinco Días and el Confidencial, among others.
The director of Andorra Business, Judit Hidalgo, who participated alongside Gallardo in these work sessions, explained that “the event we at Andorra Business organised served to show the country´s potential and the interest it is awakening. In attendance were representatives from over forty companies of diverse sectors and journalists from the main Spanish financial outlets. In the near future we are going to organise another event of these characteristics in Barcelona and the South of France”. During her intervention, Hidalgo, also informed of the services offered by the Andorran economic promotion agency.
Gallardo and Hidalgo also visited the installations of the Movistar Riders, one of the main e-Sports in Europe and the only one with a high-performance centre for professional players, where they stated their interest in opening a delegation in Andorra.
