The ninth edition of the Tàndem project, promoted by Andorra Business and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Government of Andorra, concluded this Tuesday, February 11, with the traditional final of the competing projects taking place at the auditorium of the Aixovall Vocational Training Center. The event was attended by the Secretaries of State for Business, Economic Diversification and Innovation, Marc Saura, and for Education, Josep Anton Bardina.

The Tàndem project aims to foster collaboration between the vocational education community in Andorra and businesses to develop innovative projects while enhancing students’ talents. This edition saw the participation of 68 students, organized into 11 teams guided by 11 teachers and various business mentors.

Over the past six months, students have worked intensively to provide solutions to challenges proposed by three companies in the country:

  • Global Risc: Challenged participants to leverage digital channels and new technologies to improve communication with their clients.
  • Montpackers: Asked teams to develop a growth strategy based on user needs, market trends, and business opportunities.
  • Sira: Sought technological solutions to transform Andorra’s future populations with more efficient environmental management.

Ultimately, the winning team was “7 de la Vall” for their energy-producing tile project, which stood out for its innovation.

During the closing ceremony, the Secretary of State for Education, Josep Anton Bardina, highlighted the value of this initiative: “The Tàndem program is not just a competition between teams but also a comprehensive learning experience. We are proud to see how our students prepare to tackle these challenges with enthusiasm and dedication. We are confident that this experience will provide them with the necessary tools to understand the business ecosystem and, if they choose, to shape their professional future.”

Meanwhile, the Secretary of State for Business, Economic Diversification, and Innovation, Marc Saura, emphasized that: “This program demonstrates the value of bridging education and business, ensuring that learning goes beyond the classroom and into the real world. Business analysis, market research, value proposition, marketing, and strategy are concepts they have played with today, but tomorrow, they could be key to their professional future.”

Similarly, the Director of Andorra Business, Judit Hidalgo, pointed out that: “This program is now fully established after nine editions. Additionally, this year, we have successfully integrated it into the entrepreneurship branch within the transversal skills program, and for the first time, the results achieved have contributed to students’ final grades.”

The Tàndem project continues to solidify itself as a success story in the collaboration between the educational and business sectors, preparing young people for future professional challenges and promoting innovation as a tool for development.
