The State Secretary for Companies, Economic Diversification and Innovation, Marc Saura, and the director of Professional Formation, Adult Formation and Technological Innovation, Xavier Campuzano, presented on Thursday October 5th, the eighth edition of the Tandem Project by Andorra Business and the Ministry of Education and Higher Learning of the Government of Andorra.
Until the end of the year, 59 students between the ages of 16 and 17, 12 teachers and experts from the business sector will work together to find solutions to the challenges set by the three participating companies: Molines Patrimonis wants to potentiate a single professional, efficient, beneficial, sustainable and technologically leading environment in the country for companies of the future; Nice Tech wants to raise awareness in Andorra´s population of the value of frozen fruits; and Opció Grup, wants to know what competences today´s youth will need to face the future professional world and how to reach the youth so as to develop them.
Therefore, students will have to carry out research as well as company and market analysis Then develop ideas around the challenges through creative, prototype and acceleration workshops and finally presentation to a jury. The winner will be the group who provides the best answers to the challenges set.
In this sense, The State Secretary for Companies, Economic Diversification and Innovation, Marc Saura, highlighted that “our youth´s talent is fundamental for companies as it brings a mix of energy, creativity and adaptability to the work environment. A fresh perspective and digital skills can help to improve our businessmen´s and women´s companies.” He also stated “for this reason Andorra´s FP educational community is involved in innovative projects being developed by companies, potentiating student talent, increasing job opportunities for the youth, and improving the transfer of values between FP centers and companies, as well as increasing their competitivity”.
The director of Professional Formation, Adult Formation and Technological Innovation, Xavier Campuzano, reminded everyone that “Tandem is a n extremely interesting project as students are faced with an environment of reflections on business. And it is relevant as a good number of these students will join the job market quite soon.” He added that “any collaborative field between companies and students contributes added value to the educational system and provides practical and direct formation to the students”.
So far 24 companies have already taken part in the previous editions of the Tandem Project and the final will take place on December 19th, when the winner will be announced.
