The first cluster of e- Health organized by Iniciativa Actua was held on Tuesday with more than 60 participants. It is a proposal according to demands from members of innovation and health and wellness clusters, in order to create synergies within the two groups. The meeting was held in La Closeta, courtesy of Comú de la Massana in an effort from the organizers to bring the workshops close to the different parishes.
The session began with the presentation of Hervé Denudt , head of the project Ariège Expansion , created in 2010 with the aim of promoting dynamic work and meetings between different social actors. 29% of the population of the Ariège area has more than 60 years and this could be an interesting issue to promote research work in gerontology. To ease the researcher’s task , they have developed a concept of integrated incubators inside the hospital facilities. The goal is to enroll health-care professionals at the very first stage of the project for being the first to deal with elderly common problems.
The next presentation was provided by entrepreneurs Marc Camp and Rupert Fornell, founders of Mybeweeg. This company is developing a social network linking sport and health in one product. They have both studied at the University of Andorra.
Meanwhile Xavier Wagner introduced the “Smart Risk Santé ” project, that enables to control energy consumption, while compiling information on use and behavior patterns of older people in their own houses.
Dr. Laurence Bories, a medical specialist in geriatrics at Centre Hospitalier du Val d’ Ariège, presented the “Sacha” project. It is a technological device inserted into the skin of people and allows monitoring patients suffering Alzheimer. The device provide monitor patients within a center or an enclosure, locate a patient being lost, and finally generate alarms in case of a patient falling and injuring himself. Meanwhile Mary Latouille presented a platform for innovation integrating a network of experts in health sector. It is designed to evaluate various health-related projects and new technologies.
The session ended with the presentation of Jordi Celades , engineer at Andorra Telecom. Celades presented the project based on sensors placed in the home of an elderly person in La Massana , and facilitate a geo locator for this person. The project, developed in collaboration with the Comú de la Massana under the Actua initiative, draws conclusions and generates patterns of action in the event that the medical community should intervene if medical assistance is required, based on information from sensors.
