The scholarship starting in September 2021, offered by the Centre de Regulació Genòmica (CRG) of Barcelona is impulsed by Actua Innovation within the collaboration framework of both institutions so as to foment research in the field of sciences of life, with the aim of promoting formation for young investigators and, thus, support research groups.

The student will be able to carry out his or her Doctorate studies at the CRG, an International biomedical research center made up of over 400 researchers from 44 different countries and recognized by the European Commission as a center of excellence in research having been awarded the ‘HR Excellence in Research‘ prize.

The beneficiary of the scholarship will become a member of the Guigó Lab (https://genome.crg.cat/), directed by Dr. Roderic Guigó Serra, centering its activity in Computational Biology of RNA processing with a variety of applications.

The scholarship offered, will provide the necessary competences in the following interconnected fields of research:

  • Transcriptomics
  • COVID infections
  • Bioinformatics
  • Data analysis
  • Statistics
  • Genomics
  • Biodiversity
