Actua presents Andorran innovation projects and business opportunities at the Mêlée Numérique in Toulouse

Andorra was the guest of honour at the nineteenth edition of La Mêlée Numérique, the annual meeting of the technology sector in Toulouse, to present the projects that Actua is currently working on. The Actua Innovació’s project manager, Guillem Francisco, presented on Wednesday, October 2nd, some of these projects that are being developed in Andorra. Francisco highlighted the Data Hub, in cases of use such as tourism, mobility, energy and natural risks, and also talked about the Casa de la Muntanya project and the drone laboratory.

Francisco explained “the aim of working cross-cutting projects with several institutions in the country and also internationally. Providing innovative tools for both the public and private sector should have an impact in the medium term on improving the citizen’s quality of life.

Edouard Forzy, president of La Mêlée, pointed out “this is the second year that Actua is present and our goal is to help establish relations with innovative companies in cyber security and telecommunications”. Forzy added that “there is a political interest in Toulouse Métropole to close deals with Andorra and we hope to be able to establish new relationships.

The president of CEA’s economic diversification committee, Àlex Armengol, and several Andorran companies such as Fullsecure, Pay Expert, Sóc Creatiu and Imporex, took part in several round tables and presented their businesses taking advantage of the collaboration agreement signed between Actua and La Mêlée.

The Actua and La Mêlée agreement

The collaboration agreement between Actua and La Mêlée promotes the exchange of initiatives that encourage and promote digitalization and the technological sectors. Therefore, Andorra and its companies can benefit from the opportunities offered by this association both for technological development and for its internationalisation. In addition, it positions the Principality as a business investment destination.
Andorran companies and start-ups with technological and innovation projects will be able to enjoy the benefits of this agreement, such as having a physical space at La Mêlée facilities in Toulouse, and access to many of its activities.

La Mêlée is an association that was established eighteen years ago to promote the digital sector, among others, in the region of Occitania. It is a Lab of ideas and projects that brings together more than 600 members and 20,000 independent professionals, emerging companies, research groups, investors and students, all of them in relation with the digital sector and Innovation.

10,000 visitors at La Mêlée Numérique 2019

La Mêlée Numérique 2019, which will end in October 7th, will receive more than 10,000 visitors, 470 speakers and 200 entities. Around 20 topics related to the field of innovation will be debated. At the same time, more than a hundred events, such as round tables and conferences, will be held.
