The Secretary of State for Economic Diversification, Josep Maria Missé, with the director of Andorra Telecom, Jordi Nadal and the Director of Andorra Desenvolupament I Inversió, Imma Jiménez, presented the strategic lines of the economic opening of Andorra to the Associació Empresarial Pedrosa, in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

The Andorran delegation has presented before sixty businessmen, the outlines of the major changes being made in the Principality of Andorra and the future strategies that should generate business opportunities in sectors such as health, education, and new technologies, all of them linked to tourism.

During the presentation, Missé outlined the reforms that have been made over the past four years in the field of tax and legal frameworks, in order to create a better environment for companies. The director of ADI, Imma Jiménez, explained how the Actua Program is structured to attract investment project through support to entrepreneurs, diversification of the economy and promotion. The director of Andorra Telecom, Jordi Nadal spoke about the innovation cluster, which has resulted in the creation of the Actua Tech and has exhibited projects currently in progress.

In addition to the the Andorran delegation talks, the meeting served to establish contact with many companies from the Associació Empresarial Pedrosa, potentially interested in establishing or strengthening ties with Andorra. Among businessmen from various economic sectors, there has been particular interest in the development of the medical sector in the Principality. The conditions of no double taxation agreement with Spain, and the availability of facilities to locate foreign companies in the Principality were other issues that businessmen wanted to comment.

The Associació Empresarial Pedrosa has around 150 companies in Barcelona, L’Hospitalet and the Metropolitan Area located in the industrial area of Pedrosa in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat. The association tries to promote joint efforts to achieve challenges of the near future while creating a network for partnerships and sharing knowledge.

The meeting was also attended by the deputy mayor and head of the Department of Economic Development of the City of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, José Maria García Mompel.
