Actua attended the World Forum for Foreign Direct Investment in Liverpool, on Tuesday, June 12th. Andorran delegates presented business opportunities and the advantages resulting from the recent process of economic opening. According to the organization, the event was attended this year by 450 professionals from the sector and economic promotion agencies, and 44 countries were also present. The world forum is considered one of the most important foreign investment events worldwide.

Actua attended the event for the second time, and was accompanied in Liverpool by Nice Fruit’s CEO, José María Roger. Roger took part in several workshops and a round table, to discuss his multinational company’s arrival to Andorra and the reasons that have led them to set up its head office in the country, and soon, to move the Research and Development (R&D) department.

The World Forum for Foreign Direct Investment takes place every year in different cities around the world and the attendees are mainly executives and representatives of entities related to foreign investment.

Andorra Desenvolupament i Inversió (ADI-Actua)’s director, Judit Hidalgo, stressed that “we can meet many foreign companies that are seeking to internationalize. At the same time, it allows us to make contacts with other agencies similar to ours, and thus get to know other models, and expand the added value that Andorra has for investments”.

For his part, the president of Conway (World Forum for Foreign Direct Investment’s organising company), Adam Jones-Kelley, said that “Andorra is showing us how prepared it is for businesses and for attracting foreign investment”, and recalled that this year investors with a potential of “millions of euros are beginning to discover the opportunities offered by Andorra”.
