The board of directors of Andorra Development and Investment (ADI) approved on Thursday, September 7th, the appointment of Judit Hidalgo as new director of the entity. Her incorporation to Andorra’s economic development and promotion office, which is part of the Actua program, will take place in October.
Judit Hidalgo holds a degree in Economics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and has more than 20 years of experience in international trade and investment promotion offices. Since April 2015, she has been heading the Internationalisation and Investment Unit of ACCIÓ, the agency for companies’ competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Company and Knowledge Department. This entity is in charge of promoting internationalisation and business innovation in Catalonia.
From 2004 to early 2015 she was the director of the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Trade and Investment Office in Sydney, promoting business opportunities in the Australian and New Zealand markets. She previously worked as a consultant in the Canadian Consulate’s commercial office in Barcelona, identifying opportunities to introduce Canadian products and services.
In 2001, she was deputy director of exports at Natura Bissé. She was also director of the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Trade and Investment Office in London from 1998 to 2001, a period that gave her a deep understanding of markets, culture and the way of doing business in the Anglo-Saxon markets. She started her professional career in 1996 as a consultant at ACCIÓ’s headquarters in Barcelona.
