Andorra Business, Andorra Research + Innovation and the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft (GSIC), with the support of SPSG Consulting, present the Andorra Sports Innovation Summit, an event on sport an innovation taking place on October 18th at the National Auditorium in Ordino.
The event, held within the framework of the global agreement between GSIC and Andorra to position the country as an International reference in innovation in the sports industry. There will be representatives from International entities in the sector such as Microsoft, the International Ski federation, the Vuelta, the Tour de France, mountain equipment companies, and Ironman, and local actors such as Grandvalira, Vallnord-Pal Arinsal and Naturland.
Several local and international startups will also be taking part, among which are the three winners from the Andorra Sports Startup Challenge who will receive an award from the Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise of the Andorran Government, Jordi Gallardo.
Meetings and exclusive networking sessions will also be held for participants in the event.
For the Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise of the Andorran Government, and president of Andorra Business and Andorra Research + Innovation, Jordi Gallardo, who will give the official opening of the event, “sport is one of our strategic sectors and the organizing of this event is one step further to positioning the Principality as an international reference in innovation within the sports industry. Furthermore, we want to help different startups in presenting their solutions and strengthen the identifying of Andorra as a reference country and a place to develop your projects”.
In addition, Iris Córdoba, General director of the GSIC, stated that “professional events are increasingly garnering more relevance in the sports industry and from the GSIC we are seeing how different governments show greater support to the creation of these types of events both on national and local levels. Andorra Sports Summit is an important step for the Andorran Government that will allow it to become one of the leaders in this trend, as it will attract investors, create new sources of revenue and place the Principality in the focal point internationally”.
The event will be open to the professional public with limited capacity.

The Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft (GSIC) is a nonprofit association that works based upon the ideals of a business cluster. GSIC was launched by the Microsoft Sport team in 2015 and assembles all types of sports entities (clubs, federations, associations), institutions, technological companies (from startups to businesses), research organizations, investors and key figures in the sports industry to improve its value chain.
