The third Demo Day, organized by the NIU, a forum that brings together innovative projects and investors, will take place in Caldea, in October 21st. The event, organised by Andorra Telecom’s business incubator, will count with six innovative projects.

The NIU contributes with four of its projects that “ready to go out to the market and look for financing”, according to Miquel Gouarré, head of the NIU, Andorra Telecom’s incubator.
The four start-ups will present their projects in a wide range of fields: an application that draws up tailor-made training plans, a management software for the financial and insurance sector, a tool for the industrial sector developed with blockchain and a tool to support the retail sector and improve sales online.

The NIU Works in two separated but coordinated programs. It provides support to projects in their initial phase through the incubation program and helps in the final phases with the acceleration program. In the end, the main goal is to search capital funds for the start-ups. “Capital is decisive, a key factor. Without adequate funding, the brightest ideas are doomed to failure,” says Gouarré.

The other two initiatives that will be taking part in the Demo Day are external projects that are currently in the selection phase. “We did not want to restrict participation to NIU projects but opted instead, for the presence of investors, in order to present other interesting ideas that complement our offer”.

The NIU has already contacted professionals from banks, family offices, venture capital funds and business angels. The organisers, who highlighted the positive reception of the event, expect around forty investors to attend.

The Demo Day will also be an opportunity to learn about the evolution of the payment tool Paymeter, an application arising from the NIU through its promoter, the entrepreneur David Tiago.
