The study collects information on the equipment in ICT products, computer use, Internet access and use, among others. It also includes a special module focused on children between 10 and 15-years of age to know the uses and technological equipment available in this group.
The main results show that 94.5% of households have access to the Internet and 91.6% of the population has used the Internet in the last three months, of which 95.8% are connected daily. Besides this, three out of four children aged between 10 and 15 have a mobile phone and 36.3% have mobile data.
Andorra Telecom’s spokesperson, Carles Casadevall, stressed the survey results confirms Andorra is well positioned in technological and communications infrastructure.
With regard to the European Union’s average standards, Andorra stands out especially in terms of access and use of the Internet, being the second country where mobile phones are most frequently used to connect to the Internet, the third country where the proportion of people connecting to the Internet is highest, the seventh country in terms of the proportion of households with Internet access and the tenth country where the highest percentage of people have connected to the Internet in the last three months. In contrast, Andorran data show standards below the European average in the use of e-commerce and e-government.
