The Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise of the Andorran Government, Jordi Gallardo, stated that “once again Andorra will host an event of the highest level and this consolidates the country as one of the best sports destinations for the practice of both summer and winter sports”. Gallardo recalled that “last year´s organization, although having had to face an extremely adverse situation generated by Covid19, was excellent and we managed to be one of the first countries in organizing an international competition. The effort made by the professionals in the Comú of Sant Julià and Naturland and of all the organization, are again receiving their deserved recognition today”.
Furthermore, the Mayor of Sant Julià de Lòria, Josep Majoral, manifested that “to host this event for a second year confirms that Naturland is not only a tourist attraction that completes the national offer, but also an ideal location to hold high level international sports competitions”.
The mayor also remarked that in addition, “it allows us to continue with our engagement in boosting the parishes economy through the hosting of all types of events”.
In this sense, the regional director for IRONMAN South EMEA, Agustí Perez, explained “hosting the world championship for the second straight year, is clear recognition of the task achieved in the first edition, which was marked by Covid19 restrictions and turned out to be an organizational success.
