Andorra is the guest country at Design Week Marbella, taking place until the 3rd of October in Marbella with the participation of over 350 companies. In this international fair specialized in design, decoration and luxury interior architecture, the organization invited the participation of the Principality to discover its initiatives in the fields of sustainability, innovation and respect for the environment which serve as a model for other regions.

At Andorra´s stand one can see projects such as the Principality´s candidacy to be recognized by UNESCO as the first country to be entirely considered as a Biosphere Reserve, business opportunities in the country and the high quality of life offered. Real estate promotors and professionals from the Association of Constructors of Andorra (ACODA) were also be present in the same place.

The Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise of the Andorran Government, and president of Andorra Business, Jordi Gallardo, held several formal and informal meetings, such as the one with the territorial delegate for Work and Economic Transformation for the Junta of Andalusia, Carmen Sánchez Sierra.

In addition, he was also invited to take part in roundtables with a variety of experts where he took the opportunity to explain the project of digital transformation which the country is undergoing, the innovation strategy and the opportunities Andorra may benefit from with the arrival of new professionals and digital nomads.

Gallardo explained that “participation in this event has allowed us to explain at what point Andorra finds itself at the moment, from a perspective of economic transformation, sustainability and innovation, and the projects brought about by the private sector in the fields of construction and real estate. There are people who are discovering the good moment the country is experiencing and the results are positive”.

Furthermore, the director of Design Week Marbella, Carolina Abril, highlighted that “we wanted to include a country such as Andorra for its quality of life and its high level of style. In the end, what we want to promote is a sustainable lifestyle, which when all is said and done, really is the luxury. Andorra provides us with all of that”.

The Andalusian Technological Parc, an international reference

The Minister for Presidency, Economy and Enterprise, Jordi Gallardo, while in Málaga also visitedthe Andalusian Technological Parc, with over 20.000 workers and 644 companies with a turnover of over 2 billion Euros in 2019. Some of the companies installed there are multinationals such as Oracle Corporation, Accenture, TDK, Ericsson, Huawei and Google. Gallardo met with the director of Atracció d’Inversions, Lourdes Cruz, and they established initial contact to work jointly on projects.

He also then had a Meeting with the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, at the town hall.
