The 10th Education cluster session organised by the Actua initiative was held with some twenty participants.
During the session, Ferran Costa, private sector leader of the cluster, summarized initiatives and projects developed all along the different clusters. Costa mentioned that although the sector’s major changes are difficult to implement, we can still visualize growing qualitative and quantitative changes in the education provided in Andorran schools.
The Director of “Formació Professional i Serveis Escolars”, from the Ministry of Education, Joaquim Torredà, and the Head of “Desenvolupament Tecnològic Educatiu”, Javier Campuzano, introduced the new “Pla director de Sistemes d’Informació per a l’ educació“ under the PERMSEA (strategic plan to renew the Andorran education system). The plan is based on skills, including 3 main areas: academic administration, management for skills and student’s virtual environments. In this area they clearly bet for Cloud Computing in order to fully implement the project from a technical point of view.
The session continued with the presentation of the director in charge of pedagogical and Growth in areas of Schools, Marià Pérez, and director of Educational Programs and Expansion Raimon Martínez. They both talked about the works undertaken by the Pere Tarrés Foundation. It is a social and educative non-profit organisation willing to promote leisure education for Childs and youth, within the values of Christian humanism. They implemented actions in other areas like training, research and management.
The foundation is in full expansion process outside the Catalan territory, working in the field of outsourcing service, especially for the Balearic Islands.
