The Actua program cluster of innovation and new technologies made a step forward on Thursday with the signing of the privatization and thus the birth of ACTINN. The event was attended by 35 companies and was chaired by the Head of the Government, Antoni Martí, the Secretary of State for Economic Diversification, Josep Maria Missé, and the President of ACTINN Albert Moles.
ACTINN is the first Actua program cluster to become private and will therefore be led by the private sector. Albert Moles was appointed President of ACTINN. The Actua program’s purpose has always been to boost various sectors of the economy bringing together many companies pushed by the public sector to foster new markets, although projects and clusters were aimed to develop by themselves. This was achieved with the privatization of ACTINN. This step involves, in addition, private investments, since cluster members are committed to making the main investments for the cluster functioning.
The ceremony was opened this morning by the Secretary of State for Economic Diversification, Josep Maria Missé, who seized the moment to recall the work being done by Actua, emphasizing the participation of more than 400 companies in the clusters. The dynamics of work achieved in recent years is to be maintained, taking into account the results, according to Missé. He underlined the cluster of health and welfare as an example of collaboration between public and private sector. From his point of view, the cluster has great potential although it wouldn’t be possible if the private sector hadn’t stressed the importance of providing public facilities at the service of the private sector.
Thus, Missé indicated Actua will continue to work seeking new niches to develop. In fact, the new cluster of sports will be released on December the 1st.
Meanwhile, the president of ACTINN, Albert Moles, celebrated this important step with the collaboration of 35 companies with ACTINN. He said, the intention is from now on to get all those businesses that still couldn’t be included, so that the cluster is becoming more inclusive integrating new transversal projects with other sectors.
The Head of the Government, Antoni Martí, also attended the event and expressed the support of the Executive recalling the strategic bet that supposed the economic openness and diversification. Thus, he celebrated the birth of ACTINN for being a very important step enabling the continuation of the project without the leadership of the Government, but always with their collaboration.
