The Government plans to put into operation the service of shared electric bicycles in 2018 with fifteen stations spread across the country and fifty bikes available to users. This was announced by the Minister for the Environment, Agriculture and Sustainability, Sílvia Calvó, accompanied by the Environmental advisor, David Astrié.
The project is part of the country’s change in energy model, which includes the reduction of energy dependence, based mainly on the promotion of sustainable mobility.
The results of the survey conducted by the government have helped to design a shared electric bicycle service tailored to the needs of citizens. The survey indicated that 56% of the respondents showed an intention to use this service regularly.
