In addition to the idea proposed by Fernández, the jury also decided to consider the possibility of working on a dozen more ideas that were submitted to the contest, within ACTUA’s different clusters (Health and Welfare, Education and Sports), as well as the private innovation cluster ACTInn.
ACTUA’s director, Imma Jiménez, presented the prize, an iPad Pro, with several representatives of the jury. Jiménez announced that soon “we will organize an inter clusters work session inviting the contest’s winner to present his project,” and noted that “at the request of the jury, we will also invite other participants with the most valuable ideas, to take part in this event”.
Meanwhile, the winner of the contest explained that his idea came to mind when he saw ACTUA’s invitation to consider innovative ideas applicable within the country in areas such as health and welfare, education and sport. “My idea encompasses all these areas because cycling is a very healthy sport, and with the right technology to generate electricity, the idea brings many interesting applications to equip smart bicycle lanes that can benefit both the users themselves and the whole population.”
After the ceremony, Jimenez praised the remarkable participation and explained that this initiative will continue “because it is a good way to involve the whole population in innovation processes which may be of general interest.”
