The 12th cluster of Education from the Actua program was has held this Thursday morning. The session focused on the presentation of educational projects already established in the Principality. Among those, we should mention the Certificate in refractive and intraocular surgery from Vallmedic Vision, the promotion of technology trainings from Codelearn, Vatel International hospitality school, and the financial trainings proposed by the Financial Life Planning Institute.
The leader of the cluster of Education, Ferran Costa, highlighted one of the projects already materialized, such as the Certificate in refractive and intraocular surgery created by Vallmèdic Vision and developed in collaboration with the University of Andorra, which is a proof of the potential of this sector in the country.
In addition, other companies related to education were introduced, like Codelearn, proposing a project designed to introduce children in learning technology. The founders of the company, which has centers in Barcelona and Manresa, Bernat Foj and Ramon Salvado, said their method is based on computational thinking using techniques developed by international institutions such as the Scratch language.
Financial Life Planning Institute is another company based in Andorra. They develop financial training initiatives. The consultant and partner of the company, Jordi Pumarola, said he wanted to bring financial training offers closer to consumers needs, and stressed the importance of training both children and adults about the financial system in order to raise awareness about the importance of financial planning.
The tourism sector, which is key in our country, has also led to the presentation of an initiative promoted by Vatel International hospitality school, with a business model established in twenty countries around the world. Their goal is to promote education aimed at the tourism sector through a specialized and renowned school in Andorra. In this sense, they defined the Principality as an ideal country to provide trainings in this sector.
In this 12th meeting around thirty members of the cluster have had the opportunity to share experiences and learn about ongoing projects.
