The third stage of the Vuelta a España arrived in Andorra. Coinciding with this event, the journalist Sergi López-Egea wrote a column in the newspaper El Periódico de Catalunya emphasizing that 50 cyclists have already established their residence in Andorra.
The recently retired Catalan cyclist, Joaquim “Purito” Rodríguez, and other professionals such as the director of the Katusha team, Xavi Florencio, or current riders Esteban Chaves, Dan Martin, Dani Moreno and Jonathan Castroviejo among others, have chosen our country so far. In fact, most of the the World Tour cycling teams have riders living in Andorra. For example, numerous members of the Spanish team Movistar, such as Marc Soler, Imanol Erviti, Carlos Betancur and José Joaquín Rojas.
Andorra is an interesting destination for these professionals, thanks to the country’s characteristics, its roads, the possibility of training in high altitude, the quality of life, and even its business opportunities. In fact, the arrival of renowned cyclists in Andorra, has also led to the opening of new businesses, such as Podoactiva, a spanish company established thanks to the former cyclist Angel Vicioso. The center is set to become a reference in the field of health and sports.
