Actua organised for the first time, a working session including Health and Sports Clusters. Fifty representatives of the two clusters participated in this session, held in Andorra la Vella, on Thursday 2nd November. Participants attended the presentation of Casa de la Muntanya, given by the director of the Observatori per la Sostenibilitat d’Andorra and Head of the Physical Environment Department at the Centre d’Estudis de la Neu i la Muntanya, Marc Pons.

 This new facility aims at promoting, giving information and reserving mountain sports and tourism activities, while creating new activities to promote this sector. It also has an Educational aspect and will promote mountain companies to work together, as well as public administration and Research and Innovation entities. La Casa de la Muntanya, in the parish of Ordino, will soon be presented and made public.

 The session also featured Medisport’s physiotherapist and osteopath, Jordi Zaragoza, who presented his studies related to the influence of PH on the performance of high level athletes. For their part, the main representatives in charge of ACCIÓ’s clusters, Joan Martí and Alberto Pezzi, presented the strategies they use to improve the competitiveness of the companies associated with their entity, and the challenges that must be faced to ensure the competition works as a team. Health Minister Carles Àlvarez Marfany also attended a part of the Intercluster session and showed interest in the projects being developed.

In the final part of the first Actua’s Intercluster session, Eugeni de Santiago, from Comú de Sant Julià de Lòria, presented FIRESPORT, the first Mountain Sports, Nature and Tourism Fair that will be held in the parish from 10 to 12 November 2017. The working day ended with a demonstration of the new technologies used by Podoactiva, one of the international companies recently established in Andorra. The presentation was led by the technical director and co-founder of Podoactiva, Javier Alfaro, and the specialist in podiatry, Elisabet Nieto.
