The first Open Innovation Challenge for a Smart and Sustainable Andorra ends with the participation of 70 international experts

The Open Innovation Challenge for a Smart and Sustainable Andorra, organised by Actua, has closed its first edition with the participation of 70 international experts. From 14 to 18 January, researchers from Andorra, Taipei, Boston, Hamburg, Barcelona, Toulouse, Lyon, Leuven, Helsinki and Tokyo presented the projects and lines of work they are carrying out in their respective cities, in the fields of energy and urbanism, mobility, tourism and trade.

The working sessions took place in Escaldes-Engordany with the aim of identifying innovation challenges in Andorra in many areas. Aside, Andorra was already developing some projects with many participating shareholders.

Despite the great difference in scale between Andorra and some of the participating cities such as Boston or Taipei, many of the future challenges and opportunities may be very common. As a matter of fact, the different workshops have been very productive and have served not only to identify these challenges but also to identify different lines to involve citizens and the country’s business sector.

Based on the results, different innovative projects and initiatives will be defined to continue working together with citizens and the business sector.
