Marsol presents Andorra´s economic opportunities to entrepreneurs from the French Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona

The Minister for Presidency, Economy, Labor and Housing, Conxita Marsol, held a Meeting on Tuesday March 19th, with about twenty entrepreneurs from the French Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona. The minister gave a presentation on the business opportunities offered in the country, explained which are the priority sectors being promoted, the State of the Association agreement with the E.U. and touched on other subjects such as the current economic relations that Andorra maintains with France and Spain.

In turn, the French showed a high degree of interest in knowing why Andorra has become one of the most in demand destinations for International investors and what advantages would be gained if the association agreement is approved.

Once the meeting had concluded, Marsol stated that “it was a great opportunity to present the Andorra we have and the one we are creating. We were also able to discuss the association agreement with the European Union, regarding which all entrepreneurs present saw great advantages, and transmit our desire to collaborate”.

In this sense, the President of the French Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona, David Cabero, highlighted that “it was a great session, during which we were able to see Andorra´s transformation, we learnt a great deal we didn´t know about the country, and found out more about the Principality´s new strategy and the negotiated association agreement with the E.U., providing us with clear examples that will aid in its economic development”.

The event, organized by the French Chamber of Commerce in Barcelona in collaboration with their colleagues from the principality´s Chamber and Andorra Business, also served as way to learn first-hand of the necessities and interests of the French business community.

Later, the Andorran delegation took the opportunity to visit the Tecnocampus of Mataró, one of the main Spanish technological parks that promotes university activities and the transfer of technology to the entire region. It also includes three university colleges affiliated to the Pompeu Fabra University, a business park and center.

The Andorran delegation also included the State Secretary for Business, Economic Diversification and Innovation, Marc Saura, the president and the director of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Andorra, Josep Maria Mas and Sol Rossell, and the director of Andorra Business, Judit Hidalgo.
