In 2014, the Government of Andorra promoted the creation of the ActuaTech Foundation, to establish a framework for the development and promotion of technological projects with high added value that contribute to the development of the Smart Country in Andorra within the context of economic diversification. In the coming days the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the ActuaTech Foundation are about to sign a cooperation agreement in the promotion of research.
The call for this year, which is already available at the BOPA (official state gazette) includes two types. The first is on research projects or transfer of knowledge to make a contribution of new scientific knowledge or with applications in the country, addressing any topics related to Andorra. This type provides two out of the three aids provided in this announcement. The second type provides for technology transfer or research projects that can be applied in Andorra, in accordance with the principles promoted by the ActuaTech Foundation. This type provides for the granting of one of the three aids planned in this 2016’ call.
Nationals or foreigners can apply for this aid, individually or in groups. In the case of applications submitted in groups, only a grant is awarded, so the team has to appoint a project manager who is the applicant and the project coordinator, while other members of the group will be taken into up as participants in the project. Other entities, both nationals and foreigners, such as universities, research and technology centers, companies and other socio-economic actors, can also apply. Such entities must designate a person that will act as project manager. Applicants must justify extensive knowledge and experience in the subject area of the project presented. The project presented should be evaluated by a renowned specialist with justified experience in the specific research project or technology transfer.
The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, -08- 23rd, 2016.
