Over a hundred businesspeople participate in the first internationalization conference by Andorra Business

The first internationalization conference for Andorran companies, organized by Andorra Business with the support of ACCIÓ, brought together more than a hundred people on Thursday, November 21, at the Andorra la Vella Congress Center. Over twenty companies from the country participated in individual meetings with market experts from London, Paris, Montreal, Singapore, and Bogotá.

The Minister of the Presidency, Economy, Labor, and Housing and president of Andorra Business, Conxita Marsol, who opened the event, explained that the initiative “aims to strengthen the presence of our companies in global markets. But not just to sell products and services; it also seeks to build alliances, create networks, and open doors so that Andorran companies can grow beyond our borders.”

Marsol pointed out that “the Government is driving various efforts to support the internationalization of our companies. From small initiatives, such as the programs and grants promoted by Andorra Business, to large-scale challenges like the association agreement with Europe, these are fundamental tools for internationalization.” She also emphasized, “We are working with our European and international partners to ensure that Andorran companies can compete on equal terms and with the same tools as companies in other countries. In fact, the list of Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs) signed each year is growing.”

The director of Andorra Business, Judit Hidalgo, outlined the services and programs the organization offers to support the external projection of Andorran businesses. Hidalgo announced the launch of the EXIT program for initiating internationalization and a series of initiatives such as grants, guides, market reports, trade fairs, and economic missions.

The event also featured a roundtable discussion on foreign markets and the talk “Internationalization: New Opportunities for Andorran Companies,” delivered by Pelayo Corella, professor at ESCI-UPF and journalist.

Economic mission to Canada in 2025

During Thursday’s session, it was announced that Andorra Business, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services, is preparing a multisectoral mission to Canada in the fall of 2025 to open new opportunities for Andorran companies. It was also noted that the collaboration agreement between Andorra Business and ACCIÓ has benefited 37 Andorran companies, helping them enter new markets through ACCIÓ’s network of international offices.
