The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gilbert Saboya, opened the session. In his speech he referred to the Andorran economic opening, and highlighted the changes that “have enabled the creation of around a thousand jobs in a country where the work force is 35,000”.
The Chinese Ambassador, Lyu Fan, emphasized Andorran exports towards the Asian giant, and showed his commitment to “promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries and to promote the development of bilateral relations”.
High level B2B meetings
Later in the session, meetings began between representatives of 18 Andorran companies and organizations (mainly in the sectors of consulting, banking and real estate), and a dozen representatives from Chinese multinationals such as Huawei, China Telecom and China Construction Bank, among others.
The working sessions, which were conducted in B2B format, allowed both parts to exchange knowledge and share business opportunities.
