Saboya and Camp present tourism opportunities and economic openness to Japanese companies

Japan’s ambassador to France and Andorra, Yoichi Suzuki, welcomed on Monday at his residence in Paris the Minister of Foreign Affairs Gilbert Saboya, and the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francesc Camp, with an Andorran delegation, to promote Japanese tourism in Andorra and to present the economic openness to many representatives of major Japanese companies.

The two ministers talked about the tourist attractions offered in Andorra and opportunities for cooperation in the economic field. The minister of Foreign Affairs, presented to Japanese businessmen the activities developed by the Actua initiative in order to diversify the economy, to promote foreign capital investments and to support the internationalization of Andorran companies.

Minister Camp detailed leisure and mountain tourism activities’ existing in the country and its wide shopping opportunities and talked about new activities undertaken in Andorra Turisme to attract visitors throughout the year.

The ministers were accompanied by the director of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, Pilar Escaler, Meritxell Armengol, from the Andorra Turisme commercial department, Gemma Arribas, from the Actua initiative economic promotion department, and representatives of the Embassy of Andorra to France.

The Japanese delegation included the participation of the President of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in France, Ko Takigawa; the CEO of the Japanese Foreign Trade Organization – JETRO Koji Toyokuni; and the representative of the Bank of Japan in Paris, Hiroshi Ota.

There were also representatives of the major tour operators and airlines that carry Japanese tourists in France as well as the CEO of the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations in France – CLAIR PARIS. In addition, the meeting also included representatives of industry, finance and mass distribution.
