The leaders of the cluster of sports, Gorka Aixàs and Laurence Lestang welcomed the new members and recalled the objectives of the cluster in the first session: to consolidate and enhance the brand Andorra, to create synergies with companies of the sports industry, to study the feasibility of a more favorable tax framework, helping companies and athletes to internationalize, and finally create a single national calendar of events.
In this sense, the Manager of Product and New Projects of Andorra Turisme, Enric Torres, presented the calendar of sporting events sponsored by Andorra Turisme.
Among others, Torres mentioned the FIS female World Cup Alpine Ski; the Tour de France; the FIM Trial World Championship; the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup; the Purito; the Andros Trophy, and other events such as the classic mountain race Andorra Ultra Trail, or the more recent Scott 2900 Alpine Run.
Later, the cluster members established a working dynamics around the single calendar, and how to fit all the events that take place in Andorra during the year.
Matt Lefort, co-founder of the Scott 2900 Alpine Run presented the second edition of this extreme race, which runs through the seven highest peaks in the Principality; spread over 70 kilometers and 6,700 meters of accumulated ascent. The race is limited to 50 Mountain runners proving preparation and sufficient experience to participate.
Laurence Lestang, leader of the cluster of sports, has praised this second workshop, given the high participation and the ideas that have emerged during the working dynamics. Also, the results achieved were in line with the objectives set by the heads of the cluster.
