The presentation event took place in the Innovation Space of Andorra. This 2nd edition presents several novelties compared to last year, where 11 students participated voluntarily, with 5 teachers, and the involvement of a single company (Perfumeries Júlia). In this academic year 2017-2018, the Tàndem project is consolidated and involves all the students of the Vocational Training Centre (61), supervised by 11 teachers, and working with challenges posed by the 3 companies selected (Plaza Hotels, Dermandtek and Inlingua).
The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Eric Jover, emphasized that this year, the project is integrated into the students’ syllabus as a new transversal learning space that involves 2 hours of classes per week (for both students and teachers) plus 1 hour of coordination between teachers. Eric Jover also stressed that Tàndem works with elements of the Andorran education system, such as entrepreneurship and transversality, and involves students from the different branches of study at the Aixovall Vocational Training Centre.
Ferran Costa, leader of Actua’s Education Cluster, presented the second Edition challenges. Dermandtek aims to raise awareness among the population about skin càncer prevention; Plaza Hotels wants to offer a personalized gift experience to its customers, and Inlingua proposes the creation of an attractive project for linguistic immersion during the months of July and -08- for teenagers.
Costa also emphasized the role of Actua as a mediator between companies and professional training and coincided with Jover in consolidating the project promoted by the Education cluster. For Ferran Costa “it is a great example of symbiosis between the education sector and businesses”. In the coming months, the projects worked on by students, with the help of teachers, will be presented.
