Snow Google Mobile is an extension of Google Street View and allows navigating virtually areas of Grandvalira, Vallnord and Naturlàndia.
The application, which is available today, makes Andorra one of the countries with the best coverage online images of Google, thanks to Street View and Google Business Photos.
The introduction of Snow Mobile demonstrates the excellent relations between the Government and Google. Until now, only six countries had ski resorts in this platform (Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Sweden, the United States and Canada). By Friday, there are also areas from Spain, France, Italy and Portugal. In any case, the Minister Camp argues Andorra is the first country with a presence, although in some cases partial, of all ski areas, in an effort, within many others, aimed at transforming the country to a smart country.
Camp stressed the importance of the presence in the Google platform at a time when “more and more visitors seek information or buy the destination through internet” He continued that this initiative complements ski resorts actions “to be connected to the world.”
The press conference was counted with the presence of the General Manager of Vallnord, Martí Rafel, Marketing Director of Grandvalira, Alfonso Torreño, and Commercial Director of Naturlàndia, Vicky Grau. They all supported the initiative, especially directed to “those who still don’t know us”, said Grau.
Torreño strengthened in his speech the image of modernity and innovation that is brought, while Rafel recalled that the stations have long worked to ensure that its facilities can be visited virtually and therefore the Government’s agreement with Google was considered a sort of a “gift fallen from heaven.”
In the press conference, the Secretary of State for Economic Diversification reported on the evolution of Google Business Photos with already 737 businesses photographed, including 674 that can be found online.
