2016 ended with a total of 3097 passive residence authorizations, representing an increase of 11.7% compared to 2015, with 2773. These passive residences have led to since 2014, a total investment of over 195 million euros, according to statistics provided by the Government.
Most of the permits were given to residents from Spain (913), the UK (479), France (429) and Russia (317).
Also, last year, 432 passive residences were authorized, twice as many as in 2015 (213) and three times more than in 2014 (143). These figures show the increasing interest of foreign people to establish themselves in Andorra.
