Andorra la Vella was the setting for the second edition of the Esports City Fest, the country’s most important festival of electronic games, technology, and entertainment, held on July 26 and 27 at the Congress Center and Plaça del Poble in the capital.
One of the major attractions of this edition was the wide variety of international competitions featured during the event. The top eight EMEA teams in Brawl Stars competed in the ECF Andorra Invitational, with internationally recognized players and world-class teams participating. Geoguessr also had its moment with an international qualifier tournament for a spot in the Wild Card mode for the 2024 World Cup in Stockholm.
In this regard, Andorra Business Director Judit Hidalgo highlighted that “the event aimed to connect the public with a wide range of activities, spanning from video games, music, sports, magic, and entertainment. Once again, we are very pleased with the audience’s reception.”
Meanwhile, Encom CEO Arturo Castelló noted, “Thanks to the collaboration with Andorra Business, we exceeded all expectations, bringing together an enthusiastic community of players, fans, and companies in an unforgettable event. Through international eSports competitions and streaming, tens of thousands of viewers from more than 15 countries were able to discover Andorra from their homes.”
Content creators also had a prominent place at the festival, with appearances by Suja, RevolAimar, and Polispol. On Friday, streamer RickyEdit, in collaboration with fivemediaclan, put on a spectacular magic show, and influencer Elesky performed a concert featuring some of the most famous video game soundtracks. Spaces for video game companies, demonstrations, raffles, dance contests, and virtual reality were among the activities that rounded out the two-day event.
Esports City Fest Andorra is the largest digital sports and entertainment event in Andorra. Organized by Encom and Andorra Business, in collaboration with the Comú of Andorra la Vella, Assegur, and Andorra Turisme. Within this impressive festival, the eSports City League stands out as the first amateur eSports league between cities of the Iberian Peninsula. This competition places video game fans at the heart of the event, allowing them to participate in tournaments of their favorite games and connect with other enthusiasts from their city.
