The U.S. General Consulate in Barcelona and Andorra Business presented the second edition of the free training program for women entrepreneurs offered by the US government “Academy for Women Entrepreneurs” (AWE), which will take place in Andorra between May and October. The program will be developed in collaboration with the Andorran Women´s Association.
The call is open to women entrepreneurs of any nationality residing in Andorra, who have created an emerging company in the last 4 years or who have an advanced idea and are about to put it into practice. All the participants will be a part of the vast global AWE network whose members are over 25.000 women from 100 countries around the world.
AWE is a free entrepreneur program financed by the U.S, State Department with the aim of promoting the development of entrepreneurial projects lead by women. The program offers participating entrepreneurs combination of masterclasses, as well as the intensive online formation DreamBuilder, given by the American business school Thunderbird, from Arizona State University. This entrepreneurial course has the goal of providing support to the development and growth of a business or entrepreneurial project and increase the skills of women entrepreneurs in the field of business.
The U.S. ambassador to Spain and Andorra, Julissa Reynoso, explained that “in these uncertain times for the global economy, it is more important than ever to guarantee the full participation of women in the economy and in society. The AWE program allows us to connect women entrepreneurs to a vast global network integrated by women who have also been a part of this initiative by the U.S. government”.
In addition, the minister of Presidency, Economy and Enterprise, and president of Andorra Business, Jordi Gallardo, highlighted that “after seeing the success of the last edition of the AWE program in Andorra, both in terms of participation and the quality of the projects worked on, I would like to encourage all interested women to sign up. The ecosystem of our women entrepreneurs was able to benefit from all the program had to offer and they gained new skills, knowledge and contacts.
