Unemployment in Andorra was 2.4% in 2017, the lowest rate in eight years

The Government of Andorra’s department of Statistics has published the figures on the active population for 2017 showing the average unemployment rate in the country was 2.4%. This was the lowest figure in the last eight years and is much lower than results of the neighboring countries (Spain 17.2% and France 9.4%). The average of European Union countries is (7.6%).

 The figures emphasize that 86.9% of the unemployed are of short term, and 97.7% have previously worked and have left work voluntarily. The most searched for jobs are: administrative (21.6%), domestic workers and cleaning staff (11.7%) and retail employees (10.6%).
